Jan. 29, 2016 HOMEWORK

Beginning February 1st, my Reading students will begin having a passage for homework that will come home on Mondays and will be due on Thursdays.  If they do not return it, they will miss recess on Friday and complete the homework then. This homework will resemble a STAAR passage.  Students will also bring home a strategy page that will help them work through the passage and help parents understand what will be expected of students on the STAAR.  PLEASE help your child with this homework, check over their answers, encourage them, and make sure they get it done. This practice is essential for their success on the test.

Thank you so much for your support!  You are a such an important part of their success at school!

Fun Friday coming up!  Reading students will begin a story today called “Calling All Ducks” which is about making duck calls.  We will of course discuss Duck Dynasty!  Mrs. Rock has given fourth grade students permission to dress up in their camo on Friday while we also make duck calls.  We hope this will be a fun activity to go along with our reading passage!

Thank you to Mrs. Rock!

New Reading logs will be sent home on Tuesday and will be due back Feb. 1st.  Several students are receiving low grades due to lack of progress on their Reading logs.  Some students turn in Reading logs with nothing written on them.  They will be coming to tutoring time to read if they continue to turn in incomplete logs.

Thank you for your support and encouragement!
